About Sharon

Luci & I at Vasquez Rocks State Park. Vasquez Rocks State Park is just outside L.A., California in the Santa Clarita area. Many memorable movies were filmed here including Star Trek, Power Rangers, & Bonanza. It is a fun place to ride horses, hike, go orienteering, or just picnic with your family & friends. This is one place that dogs are welcome to hike along the trails.

As you can see I love to hike & explore natural areas to photograph. Yes, it was a hot day but long sleeves are mandatory for a redhead in the desert! I simply love to be outdoors so I can photograph you most anywhere. I love the way natural light can be used to capture emotion & drama. Frequently, when the trails allow – Luci will accompany me. My history buff husband chauffeurs & reminds when to stay hydrated. He is also a great navigator & finds many historic areas off the beaten track.

My favorite places to photograph are Anza Borrengo Desert State Park at Borrengo Springs, Joshua Tree National Park, Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve, & Death Valley National Park in the early Spring. They provide a plethora of blooming desert wild flowers, critters including Big Horn Sheep & flowering cactus. I love Santa Barbara & San Diego anytime for the great weather, not to mention the great drive along the coast! In the Fall, nothing beats New England for leaf peeping. It is wicked cool! Boston – especially for the history, & it is a great city to visit where you can walk the Red Line or take the T. In my home state Illinois I love Chicago! You can also find me most weekends cruising the back roads,  exploring a state park or historic town — looking for that next great shot!

My favorite photography subjects are people! I love capturing children, families, and fashion styled portrait sessions.

My web site is designed to tell you more about my services & how to locate me.

I will be posting blogs to my web site that will keep you updated on my weekend photography adventures & recent portrait shoots. Feel free to drop me a line or post a comment. I am beginning a new era of sharing my photography passion with others by adding photography tips to my blog!
